The finished elevated concrete bridge driveway with steel guardrails leading to the modern home’s entry — Richmond Bridge Driveway, Richmond, CA
Overview

An elevated concrete “bridge” driveway New Edge Concrete built for a modern hillside home in Richmond in 2024, working with general contractor Burton Builders. To carry a driveway across the drop to the home’s entry, we excavated and poured the foundation footings, formed a suspended structural concrete deck, and waterproofed it with a Bituthene membrane over a full reinforcing-steel mat before the pour. Hand-finished smooth and framed by steel guardrails, the finished bridge reads as a clean concrete span from the street right up to the front door.
