Formed concrete foundation and retaining walls stepping down an East Bay hillside toward the bay — Oakland, CA
Service Areas

Concrete contractor for the East Bay.

New Edge is based in Richmond and works across the San Francisco Bay Area — with most of our crews, most weeks, somewhere in the East Bay.

We pour concrete across the San Francisco Bay Area, and we say yes to work in San Francisco, Marin and the Peninsula. But the honest answer to "where do you work?" is that the East Bay is home. Our yard is in Richmond, our crews live here, and the ground we know best is the ground between the bay and the Diablo range.

That shapes the work. The Hayward Fault runs through the middle of the East Bay, the hills slide, the flats sit on bay mud and fill, and the inland valleys are built on clay that swells every winter and shrinks every summer. We have been digging into all of it for years.

Beyond the East Bay

We take work across the wider Bay Area, and we have built well outside the East Bay: an ADA ramp and sidewalk in West Portal, a basketball court foundation off Lombard Street in San Francisco, and a backyard ADU foundation in San Rafael.

We also work throughout the inner East Bay and the San Ramon Valley beyond the four cities above — Albany, Piedmont, Lafayette, Moraga, Alamo, Pleasant Hill and Pleasanton are all places we have built, and some of that work is in the portfolio.

If you are outside these areas, call anyway. Travel is a scheduling question, not a hard boundary — the deciding factor is usually the size of the job, not the drive.

FAQ

Common questions

Do you charge extra to travel outside the East Bay?

We do not bill travel as a line item. Where distance shows up is scheduling — a small job an hour away is harder to fit than a large one — so it affects what we can take on and when, not your square-foot price.

How far will you go for a job?

We regularly work across Contra Costa, Alameda, San Francisco and Marin counties. Beyond that it depends on the scope. Ask — the worst case is we point you toward someone closer.

Is there a minimum job size?

No fixed minimum, but very small jobs a long way from Richmond are hard to schedule. Close to home in the East Bay we can take on work we would turn down at a distance.

Do you work for general contractors as well as homeowners?

Both. Roughly half our work is structural concrete as a subcontractor to Bay Area general contractors, and half is direct for homeowners — driveways, patios, walkways, ADU slabs and retaining walls.

Not sure if we cover you?

Tell us where the job is and what you are building. If it is not a fit we will say so — and point you somewhere better.
